Young Adults - males approx 6-7cm excluding sword, females 4-5cm

We maintain several different colonies of these and periodically swap males in/out in order to maintain genetic viability.

Size: 5-6cm+ 

Adult Size: 6-7cm+

Temperature: 22 - 28°C

Diet: Frozen and live foods, flakes and granules 

Habitat: Aside from needing a good amount of minerals in the water to really do well, they're generally easy to please. They are extremely fast swimmers and very active, reasonably anything shorter than around a 3ft tank may not give them enough space especially as adults.

They are mostly algivorous/aufwuchs grazers in the wild and we have been feeding them mostly high-algae gel foods (General Grazer Pleco Pops, with the Crickets in it) but they also go crazy for live foods and we see big population booms with our livebearers in the summer when they're getting lots of Daphnia. 

The fry are small and do best with lots of floating cover, high flow with no areas of respite can stop new ones growing out.
