 Terms of Sale and DOA policy

Please ensure that you have read and understood this policy before purchase. Making a payment is taken as an acceptance of these terms.

  • We guarantee live arrival on all overnight shipments as long as they are delivered within the time frame specified by the courier.
  • Our fish have a 7 day guarantee (mainland only) after arrival provided they are kept in appropriate conditions. We handle every problem on an individual, case by case basis.
Failure to notify us of any problems within 48hrs of them occurring (such as DOA's, fish not surviving the first week etc) voids your guarantee. 
Included in your package is advice on acclimating your new fish after overnight delivery. Failure to get the fish into their new home in a timely manner voids your guarantee. 


  • Clear photos of the livestock as well as the tank and water test results (if applicable) are required. This can be sent to us via Facebook messenger or emailed to inthebagtropicalfish@gmail.com
  • Corrupted, poor quality or otherwise unintelligible photos will not be accepted. We must be able to see that the bag is sealed as well as the number and species of the fish.

 Your Tank

  • We take it on good faith that our customers are experienced and know how to care for the fish. It is your duty to ensure you have researched the species in advance and that the water parameters are correct.
  • Unless you are an advanced fishkeeper we strongly recommend fully cycling aquariums for at least 6 weeks and letting them run with your other stock in them for a good few months before attempting more difficult species. 

 Courier, replacement and refunds

  • Any damage or loss caused by the courier is covered by the courier, DX and set out in their terms and conditions.
  • Contact us immediately if there is a problem - within 48hrs - and we will do our best to help you. Communication is key. 
  • Shipping charges are not covered by our DOA Policy. You will receive a refund equal to the value of the livestock lost. If you would like replacement fish sent instead there will be a £15 delivery charge. 
  • Any refunds will be given via the same method in which the fish was paid for, eg. Paypal will be refunded via Paypal, Debit Card etc. We will not refund in another method or to a different payment card, account or otherwise.
